Restoring Childhood

PUTNAM COUNTY
Join other families in exploring how technology is shaping childhood — and how we can respond with purpose.
Not ready for your child to have a smartphone? You’re not alone. This pledge is growing across the country — and right here in Putnam County.
Whether you want to volunteer, host an event, donate or simply learn more, there’s a place for you in this movement.
What began as a conversation after finishing a book quickly sparked something bigger — a county-wide movement.
We all felt it: the need for a shift. And the moment the idea was spoken aloud, we knew. This was it. This was the moment we’d been waiting for — and it couldn’t wait.
Nope. Restoring Childhood is a non-partisan, community-driven initiative open to everyone who cares about kids and wants to see them thrive.
Not at all. We’re pro-childhood, not anti-tech. We believe screens have their place — but kids need time to grow, imagine, explore, and build relationships in the real world.
We’re reading a book together as a community that explores how screens are affecting childhood — and what we can do to shift the tide. It’s a simple way to get informed, ask questions, and start meaningful conversations.
Anyone in Putnam County! Parents, grandparents, teachers, coaches, students — this is a conversation for all of us.
